Donors have key to unlock extra money for dental school scholarships

Together, with gift from dean, raise $25,000 to support students

General scholarship fund

Prior to the 24-hour marathon Day of Giving, School of Dentistry leadership identifies three areas where philanthropic support could make a significant difference. The priorities have changed each year over the past seven years based on need at the time.

As we request support to help our students and school go above and go beyond in 2024, we encourage those who are considering a gift, but are undecided on what to support, to consider a gift toward the School of Dentistry General Scholarship Fund (2S123).

The dean’s support

Emphasizing the importance of scholarships to ease the financial burden taken on by students, Dr. Stephen Pachuta, school alumnus and dean, has pledged to unlock a generous gift as participation in Day of Giving grows.

Your gift increases the dean’s gift

On March 20, WVU Day of Giving, Dean Pachuta will kick off donations toward the general scholarship fund with an initial gift of $2,500. Then, for every $5,000 raised up to $15,000, it will unlock an additional $2,500 gift from the dean. Working together, $25,000 could be raised for the general scholarship fund.

Let’s go!

On the Day of Giving, participants should visit the dental school’s Day of Giving site at https://dayofgiving.wvu.edu/dentistry, and search for General Scholarship Fund (2S123) to share a gift.
