WVU in the News: WVU Medicine embracing new tools and methods to improve heart health

MORGANTOWN — WVU Medicine is changing some of its tactics and employing new technology to address cardiovascular disease CVD in view of new findings by the American Heart Association.

A study by the association included high blood pressure when examining cardiovascular disease and concluded that as much as 48 percent of all adults in the United States — 121.5 million people — have some form of cardiovascular disease, according to 2016 data. It remains the No. 1 killer of all Americans, claiming more than 840,000 lives in that year alone.
