The two-year project to move the University's phone service from outdated Cisco hardware to Zoom Phone is now in the final three months. The University’s Cisco Phone service will be disconnected by the end of summer.
Main-campus and regional campus migrations are complete, and about half of all Health Sciences campus units have migrated. The next group of eight HSC units is scheduled to migrate on June 17 at 11:30 a.m. Review the tentative migration timeline.
The designated point of contact(s) for each unit or department will receive about 30 days’ notice of their tentative migration date. That date must also be approved by Comcast before it can be confirmed and finalized.
The University's phone system – which is migrating from Cisco to Zoom Phone – is separate from WVU Medicine's phone system. WVU ITS is working with WVU Medicine IT to determine which lines will move to the University’s new Zoom Phone system and which will transition to WVU Medicine, which will conduct its own phone migration project.
