The Health Sciences Faculty Development Program is set to host a series of sessions throughout the fall semester. Designed to foster the growth of faculty to their maximum potential in the areas of teaching, research and service while achieving the vision and mission of the University, the program offers a variety of lectures and training opportunities throughout the academic year.
The Teaching Scholars Program begins Tuesday, Sept. 5. The program, which focuses on developing educational theories and technologies as well as promoting educational skills, critical thinking and innovative approaches among Health Sciences faculty, meets each Tuesday from 8 – 9 a.m. on Zoom. Apply for the program by end-of-day Aug. 25.
Additional in-person and online sessions open to all faculty begin on Wednesday, Sept. 6, and run through Wednesday, Dec. 6, before resuming on Wednesday, Jan. 10, for the spring semester. Some sessions are presented in collaboration with the Health Sciences Office of Research and Graduate Education.
A Narrative Medicine series open to all faculty begins Tuesday, Sept. 19 at noon on Zoom. Sessions will also be held on Tuesday, Oct. 26 and Tuesday, Dec. 5 in HSC-North Room G119A at noon. Participation in the first session is required for attendance at future presentations.
