Four leaders named to vice president roles with the WVU Health System

Four WVU Medicine leaders who have been named to vice president roles with the WVU Health System:

  • Chris Haver, Vice President, Human Resources Shared Services
  • Leah Klinke, Vice President, Enterprise Revenue Cycle
  • Melissa Martin, Vice President, Enterprise Information Management, and Chief Privacy Officer
  • Melissa McCoy, Vice President, Enterprise Finance

In his new role, Haver will continue to lead the HR operations team, including payroll, HR program administration, benefits administration, absence management, customer service, and data analytics.

Haver most recently served as assistant vice president (AVP) of HR Shared Services with the WVU Health System. He has served in similar leadership roles in HR operations, systems, and analytics with other health systems and industries. Haver joined WVU Medicine more than five years ago after serving as director of HR systems and administration with Highmark Health in Pittsburgh.

Klinke, who has been with the WVU Health System for 15 years, will oversee hospital registration, financial clearance, customer service, hospital and professional billing, utilization review, and revenue integrity.

Klinke has served in the following roles with the WVU Health System: AVP of revenue cycle; director of patient financial services; and manager of specialty contracting. Prior to joining WVU Medicine, she was a manager at Triage Consulting Group in San Francisco.

Martin has been with WVU Medicine for 32 years. In her new role, she will lead the implementation and operations of enterprise health information management (HIM) privacy and health information governance. This will involve administering policies and practices in privacy and security auditing, coding, clinical documentation improvement, and health information integrity and management systems.

During her career at WVU Medicine, Martin has served in several System leadership roles, including AVP of enterprise information management and privacy, and AVP of HIM and chief privacy officer. She has served as AVP of the WVU Heart and Vascular Institute and director of HIM at WVU Hospitals.

In her new role, McCoy will be responsible for corporate finance functions, including accounting, reimbursement and decision support, financial forecasting, and budgeting. She will also oversee the regional and hospital finance leaders throughout the Health System, as well as the provider network services finance team.

McCoy has been with the WVU Health System for 19 years. Most recently, she served in a joint role as vice president of finance for the WVU Health System and chief financial officer for WVU Hospitals and University Health Associates. Previously, she served in the following roles for WVU Hospitals and University Health Associates: chief financial officer and controller/director of accounting. She also served as manager of accounting for WVU Hospitals.
