Nominations open for the inaugural School of Public Health Distinguished Alumni Award

The West Virginia University School of Public Health is proud to announce the launch of the Distinguished Alumni Award, a new annual recognition celebrating alumni whose professional accomplishments, leadership, service, and contributions to public health exemplify the mission and values of the School.

The Distinguished Alumni Award honors graduates who have made a meaningful impact in their communities, organizations, and the field of public health while serving as inspiring ambassadors for the School of Public Health.

The inaugural recipient will be invited to return to campus during WVU Homecoming Weekend on Friday, October 16, 2026, to be recognized and to deliver a featured presentation for students, alumni, faculty, staff, and public health partners.

Nominations are now open and will be accepted through noon on Friday, August 14, 2026. Alumni may nominate themselves; however, self-nominations must be disclosed on the nomination form.
