Let’s Go!
West Virginia University School of Dentistry is gearing up for a day that is a true difference maker for our students, faculty and overall school and clinics.
Day of Giving
The Day of Giving comes with considerable hype. Chances are, in the coming days, you will see Day of Giving mentioned in emails from WVU Foundation (WVUF) and on social media platforms for both WVUF and the dental school. This year, Day of Giving is March 20. It is a chance to promote the good and the goals of “the greatest dental school in the world” as claimed by our revered Dr. Robert “Coach” Wanker. Find Day of Giving central online and read the FAQ's.
Going First
As we approach the seventh annual Day of Giving, we recognize, with great gratitude the gifts we have so graciously been granted by our committed donors. We are also thrilled at the thought some of you may be pondering, for the first time, ways to contribute to the state’s only dental school.
Giving dentistry the time of day
The benefit of the 24-hour marathon fundraiser is that the time of day you choose to make a gift can not only put us in the spotlight among WVU programs, but your strategically planned contribution could also mean additional support for the school. We take your interest in scholarship, program and facilities support seriously, always making the most of your hard-earned dollars. Through social media challenges, money matches and leaderboard watches on the Day of Giving we can make even MORE of your gift.
Challenge accepted
Should you participate in any of the following challenges on March 20, and the School of Dentistry comes out on top, it unlocks that supplemental support. You’ve made us Day of Giving winners in the past and below are some of the challenges where we think you can make us winners again!
Timing is everything
On March 20, timing is everything.
7:00 a.m. Most Gifts Challenge
The top three schools to receive the most support that hour receive a bonus ranging from $1,000 to $3,000.
12:00 p.m. First-time Donor Challenge
The top three schools to receive gifts from first-time givers from noon to 1 p.m. qualify for a bonus gift of $1,000 to $3,000.
5:00 p.m. Recurring Gifts Challenge
The top three schools to receive annual commitments, no matter the amount, can qualify for a bonus gift of $1,000 to $3,000.
Day of Giving BOLO
Be on the lookout for a potential matching challenge from an expected donor. That basically means, the more you give, the more the donor gives. You can expect an announcement on the time and amounts in next month’s enews.
