Accreditation
West Virginia University is fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
In addition, all academic programs within the School of Dentistry earned full accreditation by the Commission on Dental Accreditation at their site-visit in 2016.
Oral Health. Our Priority.
Those four words simply state our mission and vision at West Virginia University School of Dentistry. The dental school fosters an exemplary learning environment that is supported by excellence in oral healthcare education, clinical experiences and research. Ultimately, our goal is to be the dental school of choice for students, faculty, staff and patients.
Our strategic compass is a guide to help us achieve our mission.
Third Party Comments
The United States Department of Education (USDE) procedures require accrediting agencies, like the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA), to provide an opportunity for third-party comment, either in writing or at a public hearing (at the accrediting agencies’ discretion) with respect to institutions or programs scheduled for review. All comments must relate to accreditation standards for the discipline and required accreditation policies. In order to comply with the Department’s requirement on the use of third-party comment regarding program’s qualifications for accreditation or initial accreditation, the linked procedures have been developed.
