James A. Griffin Chief Endodontic Resident Scholarship
The James A. Griffin Chief Endodontic Resident Scholarship was established in honor of an esteemed faculty member, friend, mentor and teacher affectionately known as “Griff.” Demanding precision and perfection, and with strong ethical values in the practice of dentistry, his approach to all students was the same – exacting but fair.
Qualifications
This Endowment shall provide scholarship funds for the Chief Endodontic Resident at the West Virginia University School of Dentistry. If at any time the endodontic program should cease to exist, the Fund will be redesignated to support scholarships for fourth year dental students. If at any time the West Virginia University School of Dentistry should cease to exist, the Fund will be re-designated to support scholarships for senior undergraduate students at West Virginia University who express a desire to pursue a degree in dentistry at another institution. Consistent with the Endowment Purpose, expenditures from the fund shall be determined by the Chair of the Department of Endodontics and approved by the Dean of the West Virginia University School of Dentistry. Funds shall be awarded in the name of the James A. Griffin Chief Endodontic Resident Scholarship.
