Smoot Memorial Scholarship

Qualifications

This endowment shall provide scholarships for dental students enrolled at the WVU School of Dentistry who are from under-represented minority or economically disadvantaged backgrounds, as defined by the HRSA/Title VII of the Public Health Service Act. African American students shall be given first preference. Second and third consideration shall be given to other under-represented minority students and individuals from economically disadvantaged groups, respectively. Recipients shall demonstrate academic promise and financial need. A student who is a recipient one year is eligible for consideration in any other year. Funds shall be awarded in the name of Boyd A. Smoot.
