Well, well, well, summer is almost here, and one of the highlights for many of us alums is the WV DENTAL ASSOCIATION ANNUAL SESSION at The Greenbrier. I just got off the phone and spoke to our Executive Director Hallie Mason and Executive Secretary Susan Jones, and already over 200 have signed up for this GALA CELEBRATION. If you have not already registered, there is still plenty of time, and this old Coach looks forward to seeing you.
As always there will be a School and alumni table. Cathy and Marilyn from the Alumni Association and Martha and Dee O’Palko (new development officer) from the dental school will all be in attendance. PLENTY OF GIFTS FOR EVRYONE. Rosemary and I will also be there, and I will have copies of the three books, “HISTORY OF THE WVU SCHOOL OF DENTISTY,” “HISTORY OF THE WV DENTAL ASSOCIATION” and “HISTORY OF THE WVU SOD ALUMNI ASSOCIATION,” if anyone has not already received a copy.
The books are free thanks to your ALUMNI ASSOCIAITON and yours truly, and if you are not attending the meeting, all that you need to do is email me your name and current address and the book will be in the mail by the next week. HOPE YOU ENJOY!
If there is a SPECIAL PLACE in ALMOST WEST VIRGINIA, it’s The Greenbrier, and we all look forward to have a GREAT time in this West Virginia paradise.
Since most of you reading this Coach’s Alumni Corner do not get the opportunity to visit the school very often, I thought I would introduce you to the dean and associate deans at the school. Since all of them are graduates of the NUMBER ONE DENTAL SCHOOL IN THE WORLD, I though I would show their pictures and when they graduated.

Our Alumni Association supports almost every function that happens at the school. In a couple months, the Class of 2029 will be going through orientation, and the Class of 2027 will be receiving their white coats. As we go through the year, I will try to fill you in on all these exciting events.
FALL ALUMNI CE and FOOTBALL TAILGATE; Saturday November 8, 2025
For the first time in about five years, your Alumni Association will be hosting a CE course and football tailgate at Erickson Alumni Center. Jerry Bouquot and yours truly will be giving a course on INFECTION CONTROL and INFECTIOUS DISEASES. You will be hearing a lot more on this and other alumni activities in the near future.
In future issues of this COACH’S ALUMNI CORNER I would like to inform all alums about all of the programs and events that our WVU SOD ALUMNI ASSOCIATION does for all of us, so in the next issue I will talk about awards that are given.
