The West Virginia University School of Dentistry will provide free oral health screenings for military veterans and active duty, National Guard and Reserve members on Monday, Nov. 11, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The annual event – Veterans Oral Health Day – will take place in the WVU Dental clinics on the Health Sciences Campus in Morgantown.

Limited appointments are available on a first come, first served basis. To schedule an appointment, call 304-293-6208.

Dental screenings, cleanings, simple fillings, necessary X-rays and other urgent care needs as determined by the provider will be performed by WVU School of Dentistry dental and dental hygiene students under the guidance of faculty dentists.

The WVU School of Dentistry and WVU Dental have hosted Veterans Oral Health Day for six years with support from the Borgia Family Veteran’s Oral Health Care Fund. The fund was created in 2019 to help in the completion of dental treatment plans for service members. Individuals interested in supporting the fund can make a gift online (search ‘Borgia Family Veterans Support Fund’ in donation support field) or contact WVU School of Dentistry Director of Development Karen Coombs.
